The Slow Work of God

“Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay.”

— Habakkuk 2:3

Waiting is hard enough when we know how long it will last. But when the timeline is unclear—or when it feels like nothing is moving at all—we start to wonder if we’ve missed something. Or worse, if God has forgotten us.

But Scripture reminds us: God is not late. His promises are not on hold. Even when things move slowly, they are still moving under His direction.

Habakkuk was waiting for justice, for breakthrough, for something to finally shift. And God's answer was not a quick fix. It was an invitation to trust that His timing was perfect, even if it lingered.

If you're in a season where the prayers feel old, the hope feels stretched, or the silence feels loud—take heart. The work of God is still unfolding. He never wastes the wait.

Grace Notes

I’ve been learning (again) that spiritual slowness isn’t failure. Some days, I want clear answers and quick turnarounds. But lately, I keep hearing God whisper: Let Me take My time.

And maybe that’s where the real trust begins.
